Contribution to Society
NOK aims to contribute to society as a good corporate citizen through its business activities. While valuing coexistence with the local communities in which its business sites operate, NOK promotes a range of initiatives to help build a sustainable society. These include revitalizing local communities through sports, supporting the development of the next generation, and conserving the natural environment.
Our Activities
-
Working with local sports teams
NOK has formed partnerships with basketball, soccer, and other sports teams in the communities where its business sites are located. Through initiatives such as sponsored matches and sports clinics held at NOK facilities, the company helps revitalize local communities and promote sports.
-
Creating places for children in the community
To support the healthy development of children who will shape the future of local communities, NOK organizes the “NOK Children’s Cafeteria: Manmaru Hiroba” at its Fukushima Plant and supports other children’s cafeterias in the community. Employees also participate, working together with local communities to create places for children through food education and opportunities for interaction.
-
Supporting loggerhead sea turtle conservation in Omaezaki, Shizuoka Prefecture
To help protect endangered loggerhead sea turtles, NOK donates cameras for monitoring hatchery conditions, along with turtle care equipment and supplies, to the City of Omaezaki and local elementary schools. NOK also carries out fundraising activities in cooperation with the local professional soccer team Júbilo Iwata, supporting nature conservation in partnership with the local community.
-
Participating in a rice paddy owner program that helps replenish groundwater
In Kumamoto Prefecture, NOK participates in the Rice Paddy Owner Program to help conserve the region’s abundant groundwater resources.
